The Feldenkrais Method for Parkinson's Disease

Tuesday 20 May 2014 09:00am - 12:00pm

The Feldenkrais Method® for Parkinson's Disease:

Breathing for Relaxation, Relaxing for Effective Movement -

The Feldenkrais Method® is a world-renowned system of movement education created by Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais, an Israeli scientist and pioneer in the field of somatic education. In this workshop, we will use gentle, guided movement to explore how the breath can be used as a tool to increase relaxation, locate and unwind areas of muscular tension, and facilitate effective, coordinated movement.

The workshop will include movement instruction, biomechanical explanation of movement principles, and several short breaks. Movement will be done lying on the back and sitting in chairs. If you have difficulty getting to the ground or back up, please let Matt know in advance so we can ensure you have enough assistance. Spouses and caretakers are also welcome and encouraged to join!
