Deep Brain Stimulation for Parkinson's Disease and Essential Tremor

Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) has benefited more than 100,000 patients over a quarter of a century. DBS doubles the "on" time per day without dyskinesia, reduces medication use by half and improves motor symptoms for a better quality of life.

In this presentation, Dr. VanSickle will discuss the history of DBS, how DBS surgery is done, who would make a good candidate, plus the risks and benefits of the surgery. Dr. VanSickle will even explore his method of doing Asleep DBS using robotic guidance.
