"The first step in the evaluation was a neuropsychological exam which I took in December 2009. This involves a series of mental exercises and a motor function test and takes a few hours to complete. The tests are actually quite interesting and end up providing a snapshot of the current functioning of many parts of your brain."

You said that these tests are only done when doing a DBS evaluation. Do you think the tests would have been helpful in understanding your PD progression even without considering DBS?

A neuropsycholgical exam would always be interesting, in my opinion. You are a candidate to have one of these if you are having ongoing cognitive problems, regardless of whether you are being screened for DBS. Talk to your movement disorder neurologist about this. If you are not seeing a MDN, you should be as they have the right training and experience to give you the best possible care. There are many in the Denver area. Kirk
