BOEC: Outdoor Active Retreat for Parkinson's From Monday, September 10, 2012 September 10 - September 14: Colorado River Adventure Trip - This trip is a 5 day 4 night flat water canoe trip. We will spend 2 nights and 3 days on the Colorado river. This trip will be open to both individuals with PD and MS. All participats must be independent with personal care. The Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center (BOEC) hosts a series of retreats which provide unique physical outdoor experiences in an enjoyable wilderness setting, for people living with Parkinson’s Disease. In the summer and fall activities will focus on adaptive (recumbent) cycling, flatwater boating (canoeing and/or rafting), hiking and peak ascents, and incorporate stretching, movement and balance exercises, adaptive Yoga, and other creative activities. Each session is facilitated by trained, experienced staff and support people creating a vibrant, supportive group atmosphere. Participants can expect a highly active, fun filled and social week, in a unique and inspiring setting in Colorado or in the spectacular canyon country of Utah.
