What is the Meaning of Illness, Disability and Aging?
Speaker: Jane W. Barton, MTS, MASM

Our understanding and interpretation of illness, disability and aging informs and influences our lived experience.  Do you perceive challenges as a punishment for a sinful life?  A biological fluke?  A trial?  A mystery?  Furthermore, what does the perceived meaning of illness reflect about your spiritual, religious and/or cultural beliefs and norms?  The discernment of meaning is critically important when confronted by the challenges of illness, disability and aging.  Meaning has the capacity to transform the nature of suffering.  You are invited to consider how your foundational beliefs serve to bring life into focus when all other coping methods prove to be inadequate.

This event is free and dinner will be provided. Registration is required through the contact information below.
