During the program, Dr. Benzi Kluger will discuss Common Health Issues & Parkinson’s. He will highlight common concerns, and how to address these issues as well as how to advocate for your health.

Dr. Richman will discuss how individuals with Parkinson’s can age in place and maintain their independence through exercise and appropriate rehabilitation practices.

Dr. Benzi Kluger
Benzi Kluger, MD, MS is an Assistant Professor of Neurology and Psychiatry and the Director of the Interdisciplinary Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Laboratory at the University of Colorado Denver. He specializes in the care of people living with movement disorders, including Parkinson’s disease, as well as people with cognitive or memory issues.

His research focuses on better understanding the causes of non-motor symptoms in Parkinson’s disease and developing improved treatments. He currently has funding from the Michael J. Fox Foundation, National Institutes of Health and Department of Defense to determine the changes in brain activity associated with fatigue and memory problems in Parkinson’s disease. He is currently running a clinical trial to test the effectiveness of acupuncture for Parkinson’s Disease fatigue.

Dr. David Richman
Dr. Richman has been the medical director of HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Colorado Springs since August 2011. He works with the hospital’s senior leadership team to build programs that better serve the rehabilitation needs of the Colorado Springs community. Dr. Richman earned his medical degree in 1991 from the University of Buffalo, and completed his specialty training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in 1995 at the University of Rochester.
